The Bihar government has unveiled the UPYOG portal, an online platform that will allow residents to access municipal services such as water connections, property tax payments and grievance redressal.

The state of Bihar announced the launch of UPYOG, an acronym for "Urban Portal for Your Online Grievances", aimed at streamlining interactions between citizens and municipal bodies. The portal, accessible via web and mobile applications, consolidates a range of services including water supply connections, solid waste management requests, property tax filing, and tracking of complaints lodged against local authorities. Officials said the platform will reduce paperwork, cut processing times and improve transparency, aligning with the government's broader digital‑economy agenda. The rollout will initially cover major districts such as Patna, Gaya and Bhagalpur, with plans to extend to all municipal corporations and nagar panchayats in the coming months. The department has urged residents to register on the portal and use the self‑service features, while promising regular updates and a dedicated help‑desk for technical assistance.
