Bihar Health Minister Nishant Kumar made an unannounced inspection of Prabhavi Hospital in Gayaji on Monday, focusing on the general ward, emergency unit and the mother‑and‑child department. The visit was part of a routine check to assess the quality of services provided to patients in the district.
During the tour, the minister interacted with patients and hospital staff, seeking feedback on treatment standards, cleanliness and the availability of essential facilities. He noted that while the emergency and maternity sections were operational, there were concerns raised about the adequacy of medicines and supplies.
In response, Minister Kumar instructed the hospital administration to expedite procurement of the missing drugs and to ensure a regular supply chain to avoid future shortages. He also asked the district health officials to submit a detailed report on the hospital’s inventory and to monitor compliance closely.
The minister emphasized that timely access to medicines is critical for patient outcomes and urged all public health institutions in Bihar to maintain uninterrupted drug availability.
