Seven days after a boat capsized on the Ganga in Raghopur, killing 13 children, families are angry that Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has not visited the site.

A boat carrying local residents capsized on the Ganga River near the village of Raghopur in Bihar, resulting in the deaths of 13 children and leaving several others injured. The tragedy has shocked the community and prompted calls for immediate government assistance.

A week after the incident, the families of the victims remain without a visit from Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. Akhilesh Kumar, whose relative was among those killed, publicly expressed disappointment, saying the absence of the chief minister’s presence deepens the community’s sense of neglect.

State officials have noted that rescue operations were carried out promptly, and compensation packages have been announced for the affected families. However, the lack of a personal outreach by the chief minister is being interpreted as a political oversight, fueling growing resentment among the locals.

Local leaders are now urging the chief minister to schedule a visit to Raghopur to address the families’ concerns and to demonstrate the government’s commitment to disaster response and victim support.
