The Indian National Congress ended its protest sit‑in in Jaipur on Thursday and announced it will challenge the zero FIR filed against former Rajasthan minister Ritu Barala in court.

Congress leaders gathered outside the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly on Thursday to announce the termination of a week‑long sit‑in that had been blocking traffic in central Jaipur. The decision came after senior party officials concluded that the protest had achieved its immediate objectives and that further disruption could erode public support.

In a brief statement, party representatives said the next step would be a legal challenge to the zero FIR registered against former state minister Ritu Barala. The FIR, filed without any specific allegation, is being contested on grounds that it violates procedural norms and seeks to intimidate the party.

State authorities confirmed that the FIR remains on record but did not comment on the upcoming court case. Political analysts noted that the move reflects Congress's strategy to shift the battle from the streets to the judiciary, aiming to protect its members while maintaining pressure on the state government.
