The Bihar government has formally approached the Union Ministry of Tourism, seeking a fast‑track approval process for a slate of tourism projects slated for the state.
The request comes as part of Bihar’s broader strategy to boost its tourism sector, which has been identified as a key driver for employment and economic growth. The projects include the development of heritage trails, eco‑tourism hubs, and infrastructure upgrades at major tourist sites.
Officials say that a quicker nod from the central government would enable the state to mobilise investment, create jobs, and attract domestic and international visitors. The Ministry has acknowledged the request and is reviewing the proposals.
The Bihar government expects a response within the next few weeks, after which it plans to launch the projects under a phased implementation schedule.
