MLA Gandra Satyanarayana Rao has instructed officials to accelerate road widening and infrastructure projects in Bhupalpally town, citing population growth and escalating traffic congestion. The MLA reviewed development plans and inspected key road widening proposals, emphasizing the need for comprehensive solutions to traffic issues and accident prevention.

Bhupalpally MLA Gandra Satyanarayana Rao has directed officials to expedite road widening and infrastructure development works in Bhupalpally town, acknowledging the challenges posed by a growing population and increasing traffic congestion. The directive came during a review meeting held on Saturday, where the MLA, accompanied by District Collector Rahul Sharma, assessed the development plan for Ambedkar Koodali and inspected proposed road widening projects. These include routes from Ambedkar Koodali to the bus stand, Ambedkar Junction to Singareni Ground via Krishna Colony, and the OC-2 route.

During the review, officials evaluated current road conditions, traffic patterns, and the necessity for replacing electricity lines and drinking water pipelines. MLA Rao highlighted the importance of comprehensive development to tackle traffic problems and mitigate accidents, particularly those involving heavy vehicles transporting coal, lime, and sand. He confirmed that ₹70 crore has been allocated for road widening and an additional ₹23 crore under the AMRUT scheme for infrastructure development, urging officials to ensure efficient fund utilization and timely completion of the projects.

Further directives included resolving land acquisition issues, specifically concerning property related to Kannam Rajayya, in compliance with High Court orders. Discussions also covered plans to enhance Ambedkar Koodali with a fountain and modern architectural elements, rename the RTC Junction as Gaddar Junction and install a statue there, and improve other major junctions. The MLA also stressed the need to provide alternative spaces for small traders who may be affected by the road widening initiatives and mandated weekly progress reviews.

District Collector Rahul Sharma urged officials from the electricity, water supply, and other relevant departments to foster close coordination, remove any impediments, and commence tendering and construction processes without delay. The review meeting was attended by municipal officials, engineers, public representatives, and other concerned departmental officers.
