The Bengaluru South City Corporation has successfully cleaned 709 unoccupied sites over the past two months. Strict notices have been issued to owners to fence and maintain their properties to prevent mosquito breeding.

The Bengaluru South City Corporation (BBMP) has successfully cleared 709 vacant sites in various localities over the past two months. The operation was launched to protect public health and control mosquito populations by removing stagnant water and debris from unoccupied plots.

As part of the drive, the corporation has issued strict notices to property owners. The directives mandate that owners must fence their vacant lots and ensure they are kept clean to prevent the accumulation of waste and breeding grounds for disease vectors.

The initiative targets sites where owners have not taken responsibility for maintenance. By enforcing these regulations, the BBMP aims to significantly reduce health hazards associated with neglected properties in the southern zone of the city.
