In a coordinated sweep, Assam police together with railway security officials arrested 27 Bangladeshi nationals suspected of illegal entry.

Earlier this week, law‑enforcement agencies in Assam launched a joint operation with the railway police to apprehend foreign nationals suspected of crossing the border illegally. The coordinated raid resulted in the detention of 27 individuals identified as Bangladeshi citizens.
The railway police played a crucial role by monitoring train stations and checking passenger records, while the state police conducted ground checks in areas adjacent to the border. Together, the teams verified the identities of the detainees and secured them for further investigation.
Officials from the Assam Police and the Railway Protection Force confirmed that the operation was part of an ongoing effort to curb illegal immigration and related security concerns. The 27 detainees have been handed over to the district magistrate for legal processing, and investigations are underway to determine any links to smuggling networks.
The authorities have urged the public to cooperate with security agencies and report any suspicious activities along the border or railway corridors.
