Assam Floods Claim 47 Lives

The state of Assam is grappling with one of its worst flood crises in recent times. The heavy rainfall, which is 436% above normal, has caused widespread destruction in the state. The cloudbursts in Nagaland have further exacerbated the situation, leading to a massive influx of water in the rivers of Assam. The floodwaters have inundated several districts, affecting over 7 lakh people and claiming 47 lives so far. The state government has swung into action to provide relief to the affected people.
