Chief Minister Pema Khandu urged states in the Northeast to collaborate in fighting child trafficking and cyber threats, emphasizing coordinated measures and intelligence sharing.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu of Arunachal Pradesh has called for a coordinated effort among the states of Northeast India to tackle the rising menace of child trafficking and cyber threats.

In a statement released to the press, the CM highlighted the need for joint operations, intelligence sharing and a unified legal framework to curb these crimes that increasingly cross state borders.

He noted that while Arunachal Pradesh has taken steps to strengthen its own law‑enforcement mechanisms, the problem requires a collective response that leverages the resources and expertise of all Northeast states.

The call comes as reports indicate a surge in online recruitment of minors and trafficking networks exploiting the region’s porous borders.

Khandu urged state governments, police agencies and civil‑society organisations to work together to protect vulnerable children and to dismantle cyber‑based trafficking rings.
