The Andhra Pradesh government will issue credit cards to eligible small traders under the Prime Minister's SVANidhi scheme, aiming to improve their access to working capital.

The state administration of Andhra Pradesh announced that small traders meeting the eligibility criteria will be allotted credit cards under the Prime Minister's SVANidhi (Support to Venture and New Initiatives for Development and Holistic Growth) scheme. The move is intended to streamline the disbursement of working‑capital loans and reduce dependence on informal money lenders.

Under the scheme, traders with a turnover of up to INR 5 crore and a valid GST registration can apply for a credit card linked to a loan limit of up to INR 2 lakh. The card will carry a low interest rate and flexible repayment options, with the government subsidising a portion of the interest cost.

The rollout is slated to begin in the next two weeks, with district-level banks and micro‑finance institutions facilitating the application process. Officials expect the initiative to boost cash flow for thousands of micro‑entrepreneurs, enhance financial inclusion, and stimulate local commerce across the state.
