The Andhra Pradesh government announced plans to establish 21 new nutrition centres aimed at improving child health across the state.
The state health department of Andhra Pradesh disclosed a plan to construct 21 new nutrition centres dedicated to children’s dietary needs. The initiative targets underserved regions where malnutrition rates remain high among school‑age children and preschoolers.
The centres will be equipped with kitchen facilities, storage for fortified foods, and trained staff to monitor growth and provide counseling to parents. Funding for the project is being allocated from the state’s health budget, with additional support expected from central government schemes.
Officials expect the centres to become operational by the end of the fiscal year, aiming to reduce child malnutrition indicators and improve overall health outcomes in the targeted districts.
