Former Indian leg‑spinner Amit Mishra has rejoined the Delhi Capitals as their spin bowling coach ahead of the next IPL season.
Amit Mishra, the veteran Indian leg‑spinner with over 150 Test wickets, has been named the spin bowling coach of the Delhi Capitals. The appointment was announced by the franchise as part of its technical staff revamp for the upcoming Indian Premier League campaign.
Mishra previously served on the Capitals' coaching panel during the 2022 season, where his experience was credited with improving the team's spin options. His return is expected to bolster the development of young spinners in the squad and provide strategic input on spin tactics.
The Delhi Capitals, who finished as runners‑up last season, are looking to fine‑tune their bowling unit ahead of the 2024 IPL. Mishra will work closely with head coach Ricky Ponting and the bowling department to devise game plans suited to Indian conditions.
While Mishra's playing career spanned more than a decade, his coaching stint marks a shift towards nurturing the next generation of spin talent within the franchise.
