ALERT Training Cuts India's Accident Response Gap

✍️ Motorindia 🗓 22 Jul 2026, 09:18 PM 👁 3

India’s ALERT-trained responders are bridging the critical golden hour gap in accident care, improving survival rates for trauma patients.

The ALERT (Advanced Life Support and Emergency Response Training) program has been rolled out nationwide, equipping volunteers with skills to provide immediate care at accident scenes. Early intervention during the first hour after a crash can double a victim’s chances of survival. By training responders in rapid assessment, basic life support and efficient transport coordination, the program has reduced average response times across several states. Health officials report that the initiative has already saved thousands of lives in the past year, marking a significant step toward meeting national trauma care targets.
