Senior Samajwadi Party figure Akhilesh Yadav publicly alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party resorted to booth‑capturing tactics while voting took place for the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council in the district of Fatehpur. He said that party workers were seen occupying polling stations and influencing voters, thereby compromising the integrity of the election process.
Yadav also directed sharp criticism at the Election Commission of India, asserting that the agency failed to intervene or investigate the reported irregularities. He urged the commission to take immediate action to ensure a free and fair poll environment.
