Vishwak Sen announced he will helm his next project ‘Cult’, saying no one else will take the initiative after his recent film ‘Laila’ underperformed.
Actor Vishwak Sen, a familiar face in Telugu cinema, addressed the media about his upcoming venture after the commercial disappointment of his recent film “Laila”. He confirmed that he will take on the directorial responsibilities for the project titled “Cult”.
Sen emphasized personal accountability, stating, “No one will do it for me,” signalling his determination to steer the film’s creative direction himself. The decision follows “Laila” failing to meet box‑office expectations, prompting him to step up.
Details about “Cult” remain scarce; producers have not disclosed the cast, budget or release schedule. Industry observers note that Sen’s move into direction could mark a new phase in his career, reflecting a broader trend of actors turning filmmakers in Tollywood.
The remarks were made during a press interaction with India Today, where Sen refrained from elaborating on the specific reasons behind “Laila”’s performance.
