A train traveling from Patna to Jamui derailed near Jamui station, killing a 9‑year‑old boy and his 16‑year‑old sister who were returning with their mother.

Among those on board were 9‑year‑old Vishal and his 16‑year‑old sister Karishma, who were traveling with their mother after completing a day's wage work in Patna. Both children were pronounced dead at the scene, while their mother sustained injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
