In a recent state government exam, three‑quarters of candidates failed to appear, citing late notification emails and the remoteness of exam centres as primary reasons.
A state government examination in Jharkhand saw a staggering 75% of candidates miss the scheduled test, according to official reports. Many candidates blamed the late arrival of notification emails, which were received after the registration deadline had closed. In addition, several candidates highlighted the distance of the exam centres from their homes as a significant hurdle, making it difficult to reach on time.
The exam, intended to recruit personnel for various state departments, was announced in early March with a registration window that closed at the end of the month. However, a technical glitch delayed the dispatch of the official notification to a large portion of the applicant pool.
Officials have acknowledged the issue and are reviewing the notification process to prevent similar occurrences in future recruitment drives. The state government has also expressed willingness to reschedule the exam for those who were unable to attend due to the email delay and centre location problems.
