After the mid‑day meal at a government school in Indore, 35 pupils were rushed to hospitals with symptoms suggesting food poisoning.

A government school in Indore reported that dozens of students fell ill shortly after the mid‑day meal was served. Health officials said 35 children exhibited vomiting, abdominal pain and other signs consistent with food‑borne illness and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The affected students were admitted to several medical facilities in the city, where doctors began stabilising them and conducting preliminary tests to confirm the cause. Parents were notified and asked to monitor their children for any worsening symptoms.

Local authorities have launched an investigation into the school kitchen’s food‑handling practices. The health department said samples of the meal would be examined for contaminants, and the school administration has been instructed to cooperate fully with the probe.

School officials expressed concern for the children’s wellbeing and assured that regular mid‑day meals would resume only after the investigation clears any safety doubts.
