In the first phase of the state’s digital push, 31 out of 34 PACS in South Goa have been officially declared e‑PACS, marking a significant step toward electronic service delivery.
The Goa government announced that 31 of the 34 Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) in South Goa have been certified as e‑PACS under the first phase of its digitisation drive. The move is part of a broader effort to replace paper‑based processes with online platforms, aiming to improve transparency and speed of services for farmers and cooperative members.
Officials said the e‑PACS system will enable real‑time data entry, online transaction processing and remote access to records, reducing the need for physical visits to cooperative offices. Training sessions have already been conducted for staff at the 31 societies that have been upgraded.
The remaining three PACS are slated for conversion in the second phase, scheduled to begin early next year. The government expects the full rollout to boost efficiency across the agricultural sector and set a model for other districts in the state.
