22-year-old Atul Kumar cracks HCS rank 13, cites Tina Dabi as inspiration

Atul Kumar, a 22‑year‑old from Haryana, cleared the Haryana Civil Services (HCS) examination with an impressive 13th rank in the latest cycle. He said his preparation was heavily influenced by the 2015 UPSC success story of Tina Dabi, whose interview and academic journey he followed closely. Kumar’s achievement places him among the top candidates eligible for coveted administrative posts across the state, and he is expected to join the Haryana cadre later this year. The HCS result, released by the Haryana Public Service Commission, saw a total of 1,200 candidates appear, with only a few crossing the top‑20 threshold, highlighting the competitiveness of the exam.
