The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party says its workers faced attacks during recent local elections in Andhra Pradesh and has appealed to the Union government for deployment of central security forces.

The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) has lodged a formal complaint alleging that several of its party workers were attacked while campaigning for the ongoing local body elections in Andhra Pradesh. The party says the incidents occurred across multiple constituencies and have disrupted its electioneering activities.

In response, YSRCP has written to the Union Home Ministry requesting the immediate deployment of central paramilitary forces to ensure the safety of its cadres and to maintain law and order during the polling process. The party argues that state police resources are insufficient to curb the reported violence.

State election officials have acknowledged the complaints and have assured that they are monitoring the situation closely. The Election Commission of India has also been informed and is expected to coordinate with central agencies if the request for additional security is approved.
