The Youth Empowerment and Sports Department is developing well‑equipped sports fields in at least two major villages in each taluk to identify and nurture sporting talent in rural areas.
The Youth Empowerment and Sports Department has announced a new initiative to revitalize rural sports grounds across the state. The plan focuses on building modern, well‑equipped sports fields in a minimum of two major villages within every taluk.
Under the programme, each selected village will receive a fully functional sports complex equipped with standard playing surfaces, seating, and basic training facilities. The development is aimed at providing rural athletes with access to quality infrastructure that was previously lacking.
The primary objective of the project is to identify and nurture sporting talent from rural communities. By offering better facilities, the department hopes to encourage more children and young adults to pursue sports seriously and to create a pipeline of talent for state and national competitions.
