The World Bank has revised its outlook, projecting India's economy to grow at 7.1% in fiscal year 2027, signalling resilience amid global uncertainties.
The World Bank released its latest Global Economic Prospects report on Monday, raising India’s projected growth for FY27 to 7.1% from the earlier estimate of 6.8%.
The upgrade reflects confidence in India’s domestic demand, manufacturing output and reforms that have kept inflation in check.
Analysts note that the new forecast places India among the fastest‑growing economies globally, while still facing external headwinds such as trade tensions and commodity price volatility.
The World Bank also highlighted that fiscal consolidation and investment in infrastructure are key to sustaining this growth trajectory.
