At an ICAR gathering in Meghalaya, women farmers voiced their need for high‑quality seeds and government‑subsidised agricultural machinery.
Women farmers gathered at an ICAR event in Meghalaya to highlight gaps in seed quality and machinery access.
They urged the agency to provide certified seeds that can withstand local climatic conditions and to offer subsidised tractors and harvesters.
The farmers argue that better inputs would boost yields and reduce post‑harvest losses.
ICAR officials said they would review the requests and explore partnership models with state schemes.
