The National Film Awards committee has announced that the 2024 Indian submission for the Academy Awards will not include the film "Hanuman Ansh".
Producer Namrata Singh said the decision was based on the film’s release date and the eligibility window set by the Academy, which excludes movies that premiered after a certain cutoff.
In an interview, Singh highlighted that while the film received critical acclaim, it did not meet the technical and distribution criteria required for the Oscar entry.
She added that the team remains hopeful for future international festivals and that the film will still be promoted at other global platforms.
