Western Railway launches weekly special train between Tiruvananthapuram and Madar for festival rush

To cope with the surge in holiday travelers, Western Railway will operate a weekly special service linking Tiruvananthapuram Central and Madar, with scheduled stops including Ratlam.
Western Railway announced the introduction of a weekly special train that will run between Tiruvananthapuram Central in Kerala and Madar in Madhya Pradesh. The move comes as the railway zone anticipates a sharp rise in passenger traffic during the upcoming festive period.
The service is scheduled to operate once a week and will halt at key intermediate stations such as Ratlam, providing additional seating capacity for travelers heading to and from the south and central regions. Timetables and fare structures have been aligned with existing special train protocols.
Railway officials indicated that the extra train is intended to ease congestion on regular services and to offer a convenient option for families and pilgrims traveling during holidays. Tickets will be made available through the standard IRCTC booking platform starting next week.
