In Hyderabad, West Indies drew level in the series with a crucial innings by Hope and disciplined bowling, while India's Gautam Gambir saw no birthday gift as his side fell short.
The one‑day international at Hyderabad’s stadium ended in a draw, leaving the bilateral series level between India and West Indies. Both sides entered the match with the series hanging in the balance, and the outcome kept the contest evenly poised.
West Indies’ middle‑order batsman Hope played a pivotal role, anchoring the innings with a composed knock that steadied the chase. His contribution, combined with tight spells from the West Indian bowlers, prevented India from pulling ahead in the final overs.
India’s former opener Gautam Gambhir, who was celebrating his birthday, could not claim a present as the hosts failed to secure a win. The day passed without the usual celebrations, underscoring the thin margin between personal milestones and team performance.
With the series now tied, both camps will look ahead to the remaining fixtures, hoping to tip the balance in their favour in the concluding matches.
