The West Bengal government announced a scheme to supply flour, sugar and semolina at half the market price to 2 crore families during Durga Puja.

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced a new scheme to provide staple food items at half the market price to families during the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations.

Under the plan, 2 crore households across the state will receive flour, sugar and semolina at 50% of the usual cost, helping to ease the financial burden of preparing for the festival.

The government will coordinate with local distributors to ensure timely delivery of the subsidised goods, with distribution points set up in major districts.

The initiative is part of the state's broader effort to support rural and urban families during the festive season, and it is expected to benefit millions of devotees.
