West Bengal has reintroduced entry fees at protected areas, with tourists now required to pay Rs.200 to visit Sandakphu.

The decision follows a review of conservation funding for the state's wildlife and forest reserves.

Sandakphu, a hill station in the Sikkim Himalayas, attracts trekkers and nature enthusiasts from across India.

The fee is intended to support trail maintenance, wildlife protection and visitor facilities, according to the forest department.
