Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari publicly apologized for the way the Border Security Force was handled by the previous Trinamool administration.

Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari addressed reporters today, expressing regret over the treatment of the Border Security Force (BSF) during the tenure of the former Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal. He said the policies of the previous administration had caused inconvenience to BSF personnel deployed across the state.

Adhikari emphasized that the current government is committed to restoring a cooperative relationship with the force, pledging full support and better coordination. He outlined plans for regular liaison meetings, improved logistical assistance, and swift resolution of any operational issues faced by the BSF.

The apology was delivered at a press conference in Kolkata, where the CM also announced the formation of a dedicated task‑force to monitor and facilitate state‑BSF interactions. Political observers noted that the statement seeks to distance the new BJP‑led administration from past controversies and reassure central security agencies of its commitment to law and order.

While the BSF has not issued an official response, senior officials are reported to have welcomed the gesture, viewing it as a positive step toward smoother border management and internal security cooperation.
