A burst pipeline has disrupted water service to three neighborhoods in Canacona, Goa, leaving residents without supply.
A water main ruptured in the Canacona taluka of Goa, causing the municipal supply to be halted in three adjoining localities. Residents reported a sudden loss of tap water early on the day of the incident and expressed concerns over daily needs.
Local authorities from the Goa Water Resources Department were dispatched to the site and began assessing the damage. Engineers confirmed that the pipeline breach required immediate repair work, and crews were mobilised to isolate the affected segment and begin restoration.
The municipal council announced that water tankers would be positioned at strategic points to provide temporary relief until the main line is reinstated. Officials have asked the public to conserve water and report any further supply irregularities.
Repair work is expected to continue through the day, with an aim to restore normal service to the three areas by evening, subject to safety checks and pressure testing of the restored line.
