Heavy rains have caused flooding in 14 cities across Uttar Pradesh, with water spilling into several temples. Authorities have issued warnings and are working to mitigate the damage.

Heavy rainfall over the past few days has led to widespread flooding in 14 cities of Uttar Pradesh, with water levels rising to the point of entering local temples. The affected cities include Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, and Allahabad, among others. Local authorities have issued flood alerts and are coordinating rescue operations for residents trapped in low-lying areas.

The inundation has disrupted transportation, damaged property, and caused power outages in several districts. Temple authorities reported that water had seeped into sanctum sanctorum areas, prompting temporary closure of worship services. The government has deployed flood control teams and set up relief camps to provide shelter and essential supplies.

Officials have urged residents to stay away from flooded zones and to follow instructions from the disaster management authorities. The state’s emergency response unit is monitoring the situation closely and has requested additional resources from the central government if needed.
