Warner Music India has bought the Gemini Music catalog and signed agreements with filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon and Malayalam production house Magic Frames, expanding its Indian music portfolio.

Warner Music India announced the acquisition of the Gemini Music catalog, adding a substantial collection of regional and film songs to its Indian repertoire. The move marks the label's most significant catalog purchase in the country to date.

Alongside the acquisition, Warner sealed partnership agreements with veteran filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon and Malayalam production house Magic Frames. Both entities will collaborate with the label on music publishing, distribution and new film‑song projects.

Industry observers note that the deal strengthens Warner's foothold in India's competitive music market, where local catalog depth and film‑music tie‑ups are key growth drivers. By integrating Gemini's back‑catalog and leveraging Menon's and Magic Frames' creative pipelines, Warner aims to broaden its streaming and licensing revenue streams.

The acquisition also reflects a broader trend of global music majors consolidating Indian music assets to capture the country's expanding digital audience and regional content demand.
