A 20‑foot high wall at a scrap‑metal handling site in Bhivadi’s industrial area collapsed abruptly, crushing worker Aravind and injuring a fellow employee.
The incident occurred while workers were loading and unloading iron scrap. The wall, which had been erected as part of the site’s storage structure, gave way and fell onto the workers.
Aravind, a resident of Sitapur, was trapped under the debris and could not be rescued in time. The injured colleague was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
Emergency services responded quickly, but the collapse caused significant damage to the site’s infrastructure and halted operations for the day.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the collapse and will review safety protocols at the facility.
