The Visvesvaraya Technological University has directed principals of its affiliated engineering colleges to allocate specific time slots for student interaction and grievance redressal. Colleges must also keep a grievance log book recording the date, nature of each complaint and the action taken.

The Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) issued a circular to the principals of all engineering colleges affiliated with it, asking them to set aside dedicated time slots for interacting with students and addressing their grievances.

As part of the directive, principals are required to maintain a grievance log book in which they must note the date, a brief description of the grievance or query, and the action taken or resolution provided, wherever applicable.

The measure aims to ensure timely redressal of student concerns and improve transparency in the functioning of affiliated colleges across the state.

The instruction was reported by The Hindu, highlighting VTU’s focus on strengthening student‑college communication mechanisms.
