The actor Vivek Oberoi claimed that a powerful Bollywood lobby ostracised him, leaving him in what he described as 'real hell'.
Veteran Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi has publicly alleged that a dominant lobby within the film industry isolated him, describing his experience as "real hell." Oberoi's remarks, reported by The Indian Express, highlight his sense of being sidelined by influential circles that control casting and project approvals.
The actor did not name specific individuals or organisations, but his statement underscores the perceived power dynamics that can shape careers in Hindi cinema. Oberoi, known for his roles in films such as "Company" and "Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster," said the ostracism affected both his professional opportunities and personal well‑being.
Industry observers note that such claims, while rare, point to ongoing debates about transparency and fairness in Bollywood's decision‑making processes. Oberoi's comments may prompt further discussion about how informal networks influence the trajectory of actors in the industry.
No official response from the alleged lobby or any film bodies has been recorded at the time of reporting. The actor's statement adds to a broader conversation about the need for more equitable practices within the Indian entertainment sector.
The Indian Express continues to monitor reactions from peers and industry representatives as the story develops.
