Around six residents of Dhadhar village in Kaimur’s Durgavati block have started a hunger strike demanding the conversion of a mud‑filled road linking Pipri Pulia to the local high school into a paved road.

Dhadhar village in the Durgavati block of Kaimur district has seen a small group of residents set up an aamran (hunger) fast. Former sarpanch Bhai Chandr Ravat, local activist Manoj Rajbhar and about half a dozen others are seated on the road, pressing the district administration to pave the unsealed stretch that runs from Pipri Pulia to the nearby higher secondary school in Kudarri.

The gravel‑and‑mud road becomes virtually impassable during the monsoon, cutting off schoolchildren, commuters and farmers from essential services. Villagers say the deteriorating condition hampers daily travel and poses safety risks, especially for students walking to the school.

According to the protestors, repeated appeals to the block development office have yielded no concrete action. By resorting to a hunger strike, they hope to draw immediate attention from district officials and secure funding for a permanent, all‑weather surface.
