The Vijay‑led administration has announced a major anti‑delimitation drive, asserting that the process will disadvantage the southern region. The government has also outlined three specific demands to be addressed before any delimitation work proceeds.

The Vijay government has formally launched an anti‑delimitation campaign, warning that the proposed redrawing of electoral boundaries will disproportionately affect the southern part of the country.

In a statement released by the administration, officials argued that the current delimitation framework does not adequately reflect demographic realities and could dilute the political influence of southern constituencies.

Alongside the campaign, the government has put forward three demands that must be met before any delimitation process can be initiated. While the specifics of these demands have not been disclosed, they are said to relate to representation, resource allocation and procedural safeguards.

Political analysts warn that the move could intensify regional tensions and delay the implementation of a nationwide delimitation exercise that has been pending for years.
