Vande Bharat Express to Run Between Udaipur and Surat from Oct 2, Seats Sold Out in 8 Hours

The new Udaipur‑Surat Vande Bharat Express began its inaugural run on Oct 2, with regular services slated from Oct 3, six days a week, after all seats sold out within eight hours of booking.
The Ministry of Railways launched a dedicated Vande Bharat Express linking Udaipur in Rajasthan with Surat in Gujarat on 2 October as an inaugural special service. The high‑speed train will operate in both directions, halting at nine intermediate stations along the corridor.
Demand for the new service surged ahead of the Diwali travel rush, with all available seats booked within eight hours of the online reservation opening. Travelers cited the promise of faster, more comfortable journeys as a key draw.
From 3 October, the train will run a regular schedule six days a week, excluding Tuesdays. The timetable is designed to provide daily connectivity for business, tourism and pilgrimage traffic between the two cities.
Rail officials expect the Udaipur‑Surat Vande Bharat to boost regional commerce and tourism, offering a modern alternative to existing train and road options and reducing travel time considerably.
