Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been named senior team captain and will lead Bihar's squad in the upcoming SMAT competition, NDTV Profit reports.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been appointed senior team captain, tasked with leading Bihar's contingent in the State Management Assessment Test (SMAT), a development reported by NDTV Profit. The decision was announced as the SMAT schedule draws nearer, signalling the state's intent to field a more experienced leadership.
The SMAT, a competitive platform that assesses strategic and managerial capabilities across Indian states, sees Bihar aiming to improve its standing after previous modest results. Sooryavanshi's elevation reflects confidence in his ability to guide the team through the rigorous assessment.
Previously a member of Bihar's junior squad, Sooryavanshi brings several years of participation in state-level contests. His familiarity with the format and his track record of consistent performance are cited as key reasons for his promotion.
Further details about the team composition or the competition timeline have not been disclosed, but officials expect Sooryavanshi's leadership to bolster Bihar's prospects in the upcoming SMAT event.
