The state of Uttarakhand has expanded its road infrastructure to over 51,000 kilometers, Chief Minister R. S. Dhami announced today, marking a significant boost in connectivity across the region.
On Thursday, Chief Minister R. S. Dhami announced that Uttarakhand’s total road length has crossed the 51,000‑kilometre mark, a milestone that underscores the state’s commitment to improving connectivity.
The figure includes national highways, state highways, district roads and rural link roads, and represents a cumulative increase of several hundred kilometres over the past year.
Dhami highlighted that the expanded network will facilitate easier movement of goods and people, especially in hilly districts where road access has historically been limited.
The announcement came during a press conference at the state capital, where the CM also outlined plans to upgrade key corridors and improve maintenance standards.
Officials said that the new data will be used to prioritize future infrastructure projects and attract investment for further road development.
