The Election Commission’s latest revision trimmed Uttarakhand’s electoral roll by more than 10%, leaving 7.16 million registered voters.
The Election Commission of India has released the final electoral roll for Uttarakhand after completing the latest Supplementary Incremental Revision (SIR). The updated roll shows a reduction of over 10% compared with the previous list.
The revised roll now records 7.16 million registered voters across the state, down from roughly 8 million earlier. The decline results from the removal of duplicate, deceased and otherwise ineligible entries identified during the SIR exercise.
The new roll will serve as the basis for the upcoming state assembly elections, and political parties have been notified to adjust their campaign plans accordingly.
Election officials said the revision enhances the accuracy and credibility of the electoral process. Voters can verify their status on the official ECI portal.
