The Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court has officially retired, concluding his tenure at the state's apex court.

The Uttarakhand High Court announced that its Chief Justice has stepped down from office, marking the end of his term at the state's highest judicial forum. The retirement was confirmed by the court's administration, which noted that the judge had fulfilled the mandatory retirement age and chose to vacate the post in accordance with established procedures.
The vacancy created by his departure will be filled following the standard collegium recommendation process, after which the President of India will appoint a successor. In the interim, the senior-most judge of the bench will assume the duties of acting chief justice to ensure uninterrupted functioning of the court.
Legal experts noted that the outgoing chief justice had presided over several high‑profile cases during his tenure, contributing to the development of jurisprudence in the region. The court expressed gratitude for his service and wished him well in his post‑retirement endeavors.
