The Uttarakhand unit of the Indian National Congress said it will file criminal complaints concerning a ritual performed during a recent rally in Haldwani.
The state unit of the Indian National Congress announced that it will file First Information Reports (FIRs) with the Haldwani police regarding a ritual observed during a recent political rally in the city.
Party officials said the ritual appeared to contravene existing legal provisions and could potentially disturb public order, prompting the decision to seek a formal investigation.
The Congress leadership indicated that the complaints will be submitted through the appropriate legal channels and expects law‑enforcement agencies to act in accordance with the law.
The move underscores the party's intent to address actions it deems unlawful during political gatherings, a stance that may influence the broader political climate in Uttarakhand.
