Uttarakhand CM Says Ministers Took Bus to BRICS Dinner to Avoid Inconvenience

Uttarakhand's Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that ministers traveling to the BRICS dinner had opted for a bus instead of private vehicles to minimise inconvenience for the state’s residents. The decision, according to Dhami, was taken to avoid traffic congestion and ensure a smooth arrival for the delegation.

The BRICS dinner, hosted in Uttarakhand, brought together leaders from India, Brazil, Russia, China and South Africa for a formal evening of discussion and cultural exchange. By choosing a single bus, the state government aimed to streamline logistics and reduce the environmental impact of the event.

Dhami said the move was part of the government’s broader effort to promote efficient use of public transport and to set an example for other states hosting international gatherings. He added that the ministers were briefed on the route and timing to ensure punctuality.

The state’s transport department has already coordinated with local authorities to clear the bus route and provide necessary security measures. The BRICS delegation is expected to arrive in the evening and will be hosted at the state’s official residence.

Officials have not yet released a detailed itinerary for the dinner, but the use of a single bus is seen as a pragmatic solution to potential logistical challenges.
