Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated new stalls for women self‑help groups and announced a 15‑day Sashakt Bahna Utsav to begin next year, aiming to boost women’s entrepreneurship in the state.
The Uttarakhand chief minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, presided over the inauguration of dedicated stalls for women self‑help groups (SHGs) in a ceremony attended by local artisans and community leaders. The event highlighted the state government's focus on creating market‑linkage opportunities for women entrepreneurs.
The newly set up stalls will provide a platform for SHG members to showcase and sell handmade products ranging from handicrafts to organic produce, thereby improving their income prospects and market visibility.
During the same function, Dhami announced a 15‑day "Sashakt Bahna Utsav" to be launched next year. The festival will feature exhibitions, training workshops and promotional activities aimed at strengthening women’s participation in the informal sector.
Officials said the combined initiative is expected to generate thousands of livelihood opportunities and reinforce Uttarakhand’s broader agenda of women’s economic empowerment.
