Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami outlined the state’s plan to reduce the Delhi‑Dehradun journey to about two and a half hours as part part of a broader connectivity drive.

Delhi to Dehradun in roughly two and a half hours could become a reality, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Tuesday, highlighting the Uttarakhand government's renewed focus on transport infrastructure. Dhami described the proposal as a key element of the state's connectivity push, aimed at linking the capital with the national capital more efficiently. He indicated that the plan involves upgrading existing road and rail corridors to achieve the targeted travel time. The announcement comes as the state seeks to boost tourism, trade and commuter convenience by shortening the distance between the two cities. Officials said detailed project reports will be prepared in the coming weeks, with implementation to follow pending approvals.
