India Today’s "Mood of the Nation" survey released today highlighted that Uttar Pradesh could become a problematic constituency for the Bharatiya Janata Party if the Lok Sabha elections were to be conducted now. The poll, which sampled a cross‑section of voters across the state, showed a noticeable dip in the BJP’s approval compared with previous rounds of voting.
Analysts cited factors such as recent agrarian distress, law‑and‑order concerns and the performance of opposition parties in key districts as contributing to the shift.
