Uttar Pradesh police reshuffle sees 20 officers transferred, new chiefs appointed in 10 districts

The Uttar Pradesh government announced a large‑scale police reshuffle, moving twenty senior officers to different postings across the state. The decision also includes the appointment of new district police chiefs in ten districts, replacing the incumbents in those jurisdictions. The transfers and new postings are expected to take effect within the next few days, with officials instructed to ensure a smooth handover. State authorities said the reshuffle aims to strengthen law‑enforcement efficiency and address emerging security challenges. The move reflects the administration's ongoing effort to refresh the police leadership and improve coordination at the district level.
